With the Target Center Renovation in full swing, we decided to revisit past events at the Target Center.
Today, we go back to Oct. 27, 2006 when O.A.R played a concert at the Target Center. O.A.R., of course, is an American rock band that was founded in 1996.
In 2006, the band was in-between Stories of a Stranger (2005) and All Sides (2008).
If you haven’t listened to “That Was A Crazy Game Of Poker” recently, do it now.
What else was going on in 2006?
President: George W. Bush
Senators of Minnesota: Mark Dayton and Norm Coleman
Top Song: “My Love” by our guy Justin Timberlake featuring T.I.
Top Movie: “The Departed”
(Also a top-3 favorite movie of mine.)
The movie featured Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg.
The description: “An undercover cop and a mole in the police attempt to identify each other while infiltrating an Irish gang in South Boston.”
Leading Scorer for the Wolves: During the 2006-07 season, Kevin Garnett led the team with 22.4 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. Ricky Davis was second on the team averaging 17 points per game.
Born on this Day: Brady Quinn, the former Notre Dame quarterback who had really, really big muscles. Like too big for a quarterback to have.
Check back in next week for another trip down memory lane.
